India Return

January 6th, 2010 by Collin Canright | No Comments | Filed in Personal

My friends returned from India today, back from travel to sacred sites. My wife Christina and I met them at the airport this morning, for the arrival of their 4:44a flight from Dehli. Several of our other friends from our Wright Leadership Institute community were there as well, watching the O’Hare International terminal wake up for the day as we waited for our friends to move through customs.

They set up their PA, and we circled up for a few minutes to hear about their travels, both the outer physical journey and the sacred emotional inner journey. I heard about New Years Eve on the Mother Ganges River, as a celebration of life amidst the fires of the dead–they saw the same full blue moon I marveled at here in Chicago.

Later this evening, I heard in more details from two other travelers. I was struck about lessons in service and general goodwill in the face of discomfort and distress and by the power of emotional presence that makes what would otherwise be the details of a story into an intimate experience of personal expression.

Collin in Pictures

This is my life in pictures. . . so far, the slide show from my birthday celebration. It ran to The Beatles song “Birthday,” about the best choice there is, followed by a song “Too Young” by the French pop group Phoenix.

Thanks to my wife Christina, Dan Lewis, and my mom and dad for pictures. Hope you enjoy My Life In Pictures, So Far (PDF).

Note, however, that it’s a large PDF, about 10mb. It opens full screen and runs automatically. Hit the ESC key to stop. I’ll post a smaller version in the next couple days.

Wishes

I am very grateful for my friends, family, coworkers, clients, and communities. My wish is that we all develop to our fullest and know fully who we are and who we can become–and do what it takes to serve to our fullest.

I would love to read your wishes, which you can post as comments.
